01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located at 3113 S 31st St in Temple, TX, Dairy Queen is a beloved fast food and ice cream destination that perfectly blends classic Tex-Mex flavors with world-famous frozen treats. Known for its warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly team, this Dairy Queen offers a delicious escape for both quick bites and indulgent desserts.

The menu here is a delightful balance of savory and sweet. For those craving bold, satisfying flavors, the Tex-Mex selection shines with offerings like the Texas TBrand Tacos®—three beef-filled tacos topped with shredded cheese, crisp lettuce, and ripe tomatoes, served with a side of signature DQ® taco sauce. The Nachos Deluxe is a hearty feast, layered with cheese sauce, seasoned taco meat, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and cheddar cheese, with optional extras like jalapeños and sour cream to amp up the zest. The Beef Taco Salad adds a refreshing crunch with lettuce and tomatoes nestled in a fried flour tortilla, making it a flavorful choice for a light yet filling meal.

On the sweeter side, Dairy Queen's Blizzard® Treats are nothing short of legendary. The Butterfinger® Blizzard® combines the irresistible crunch of Butterfinger candy pieces with creamy DQ® vanilla soft serve, creating a perfect harmony of texture and flavor. For chocolate lovers, the Choco Brownie Extreme Blizzard® envelops chewy brownie bites, chocolate chunks, and cocoa fudge in velvety soft serve, delivering pure indulgence in every spoonful. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blizzard® delights with rich fudge and cookie dough morsels blended seamlessly into smooth vanilla ice cream, a taste that feels like a comforting hug on a hot day.

Families will appreciate the thoughtfully crafted Kids Meals, which include favorites like the Kids' Hamburger and Chicken Strips, each served with fries, a drink, and a mini DQ® Treat, ensuring even the little ones leave happy and satisfied.

Customers consistently praise Dairy Queen Temple for its fresh food and impeccable service. Barbara C highlights the friendly employees and clean environment, creating a welcoming spot to enjoy a quick meal or a cool dessert. Carmen L recommends the Jalitos Burger—a spicy twist with jalapeño ranch, pepper jack cheese, and fried Jalitos—which pairs perfectly with crispy onion rings, a combination that tantalizes the taste buds. Julia DeWitt’s heartfelt review of their celebration ice cream cake showcases the staff’s attention to detail and dedication to making special moments memorable. While some guests like CTX Traveler note minor concerns such as food-handling preferences, they still acknowledge the freshness and quality maintained by the kitchen team.

Beyond just food, the atmosphere at this Dairy Queen is friendly and upbeat, with a team that works seamlessly together, as Sarah F observes. Whether you're stopping by for a quick lunch, a sweet treat after school, or celebrating an occasion with a custom cake, this Dairy Queen delivers not only delicious flavors but also a genuine, warm experience that keeps the local community coming back for more.

Try the Jalitos Burger. Its the classic burger with Jalapeno ranch, pepper jack cheese, fried Jalitos with lettuce. The burger pairs well with onion rings.

So happy with our graduation ice cream cake! We ordered a 10 inch Oreo cheesecake Blizzard. The cake was huge and more than enough ice cream haha. The ladies did a great job with piping and style. We needed it blue for Temple High.

Friendly staff. Cashier was nice and helpful. Repeated my order back to me. Place was clean and nice. Cooks weren’t wearing gloves, not everyone enforces it but for me that’s a big issue. Also saw them throw away old fries and rotate new ones, so they shows they keep up with freshness and food quality. Food was good. Mustard seemed to be watery. But besides that everything was nice and fresh. Free treat included with the kids meal so can’t beat that. Don’t come here often usually just when I’m missing my grandparents. Helps having places like this that help with memory lane. Bathrooms were clean. Good job Dairy Queen

Parking is limited and you have to cross in front of the drive through lane to get in. Always get the dairy free Dilly Bar, but it must be so rarely ordered that they have to ask twice to confirm that's what you want.
